1WorldSync 2017 Working Group Day in Review

We’re happy to say that our 1WorldSync Working Group Day on September 14, 2017, at the GS1 Germany Knowledge Center in Cologne, Germany was a total success.

80 attendees from 9 different countries represented 52 different companies in America and Europe to network, discuss industry trends, best practices and strategies on Data Quality, Supply Chain Enablement, Transparency, Compliance, and Omni-Channel Commerce.

The day kicked-off with two cutting-edge presentations on “The Future of eCommerce” and the importance of “Customer Experience – The Next Competitive Battleground” from 1WorldSync’s CIO Stefan Schweikart and Senior Experience Designer, Martin Trauth.

After the opening session all participants attended their designated industry working groups.

The Healthcare working group focused on three main topics: product content, data quality and the implementation process of EU regulation on medical devices. The workshop also provided an overview of existing GDSN projects in Europe and use cases around product content exchange were presented. It became obvious that the need for accurate and trustworthy product content has an increasing value to the healthcare industry and the ever-growing 1WorldSync community.

The FMCG & Foodservice workshop was all about data exchange of master data for the global Omni-Channel B2B and B2C business. The presentations and discussions embraced that sharing trusted product content is the foundation of growing augmented reality for the retail aisle.

In the afternoon all attendees were invited to join a guided tour through the newly designed industry-specific “Live Components” of the Experience Center to discover the latest trends and developments in GS1 Standards and digital technologies first hand.

Our all informative day ended with a great networking dinner at the Osman 30 with beautiful skyline view of Cologne by night.
